ArtVilnius’23 maintains its format and in addition to the main program of art galleries, it presents the Project Zone with the collections of world-renowned artists, museums, and art foundations and institutional expositions (curated by Valentinas Klimašauskas). The exhibition of sculptures, installations, and performances Takas (The Path) (curator Vytenis Burokas) will also be open. The tradition of selecting the best galleries and artists will continue, with a program of discussions, lectures, talks, and other additional events.
Every year ArtVilnius has a certain theme – a highlight – and this year’s theme is performativity. The context of the art fair will provide an opportunity to look at the concept of performativity in an open and creative way, to talk about performativity and the broadest interpretations of this term.
ArtVilnius’23 is organised by the Lithuanian art gallerists’ association, director – Diana Stomienė. The fair is funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture, the art fair’s patron is Vilnius City Municipality.
