Congratulations to Anna Ganina for Art is Dead winning Best in Show in "MOOD. Animals with Attitude." Wild Heart Gallery is thrilled to award their top honor to this artist.

Paint quality, the adept addition of marble powder, multiple painting techniques that still come together cohesively, color use, textures (both replicated and in paint), and overflowing mood of this one secured it Best in Show. It is an all around great painting that fits the theme solidly. The use of an "animeople" rather than a giraffe that is wholly a giraffe works here for the message of the piece. Artist ( Description ):

From the artist, "This provocative artwork depicts a giraffe human holding her paint brushes, standing next to an easel. The artwork says, "Aren't you a nosey little f&#@er?" While the artwork itself doesn't explicitly say 'Art is dead,' it can be interpreted as a commentary on the state of contemporary art. This painting prompts viewers to question art's value, purpose, and significance in today's society."
