Inking For A Change, an international online solo drawing exhibition by Trevor Jones opens on August 01 and will continue through August 31, 2023.
Trevor Jones' journey as an artist began 12 years ago when introduced to the art of tattoos as she started to serve a prison sentence when he was only 19 years old. His rehabilitation has brought out the artistic talent that he may never have discovered. The arts have introduced him to language, religion, education, and trade skills, which are all intertwined. Studio Behind The Fence promotes Trevor's art to display and share his creations outside prison walls. His art has been shown in local juried and online art shows and published in art magazines and competitions. Alcatraz East Crime Museum in Pigeon Forge, TN, acquired “The Crossing” from an exhibit by Prison Arts Touching Hearts Organization.

Artist:
Born in Bellevue Washington, 1991, as an only child, I lived an uneventful life until my parents divorced at the age of 9, then lived between two homes. Upon entering high school, I was suspended for smoking marijuana and started the cycle of alternative schools. After graduating High School in 2010, the following year, 2011, I committed an assault and robbery, which led me to a sentence of hundred-and-eighty-three months in prison. I spent my first year at Walla Walla, in Eastern WA, transferred to Stafford Creek for good behavior, and this is where I started to draw and design tattoos. I sent home a pencil drawing of a desktop with all the items earned for good behavior, a key to my room, drawing pencils, a name tag, and cup. My mom and stepfather were really impressed and encouraged my drawing. Studio Behind The Fence is a website business to promote my artwork. Helen Boydston is a General Partner and Art Representative and manages all the business transactions.
