Iconic, an international online Photography exhibition by Edwin Liew-Ferguson opens on September 01 and will continue for two months until October 31, 2023.
As stories go, Photography found Edwin Liew-Ferguson when his mother-in-law, Pat, wanted a photo of mine for her living room: The image of her backyard palm tree not only brought great joy to her and his husband but also the desert environs she connected with as defined by this iconic tree. As she struggled with mobility due to cancer a year later, his photos of desertscapes poignantly became her windows to the outdoors. When she succumbed to her illness in 2022, Pat's inspiration in the face of their untimely loss more than fueled his dedication to photography.
Edwin photos capture visions of life across a rainbow palette and evolve artistically to bring images that would evoke a deep emotional connection with others. his snapshots of nature, societal subjects and cultural icons can reveal his expression of identity, inclusivity, freedom, and perspective.

Artist:
Originally from Malaysia and Vancouver, Canada, Edwin Liew-Ferguson, a former high school teacher in the Richmond School District and university instructor in Hong Kong, currently works as a post-secondary academic counselor. His expertise includes assisting Fine Arts students prepare for art & design portfolios.
As an emerging Palm Springs photographer, Edwin received his first “Best in Show” and “Exhibition Finalist” awards in Fusion Art’s 5th Annual Lines, Shapes and Objects (internationally-juried) Online Art Exhibition, June 2023. Recently, his photos won the Bronze Award in the Camelback Gallery Shades of Red 2023 (Internationally-Juried) Art Exhibition for July, "Honorable Mention", two "Special Merit" and "Special Recognition" awards in both the Light Space & Time's "Cityscapes" and "Seascapes" 2023 Art Exhibitions. In March 2023, Edwin’s works were included in the Artists Council 2023 "Through the Lens" Photography Show & Sale and the Desert Open Studios Art Event. His photos have garnered generous donations for the River of Hope Palm Springs 2022 and 2023 Church fundraisers.
