Binuta Sudhakaran and Marti Schoen met about 10 years ago, while they were painting scenic art at Davis Musical Theater Company. Over the years, they have collaborated on various creative projects at the Theater, or for benefit events. They chose the exhibit name “Kindred Connections” because the two of them connect quickly, effortlessly, and harmoniously in art and in friendship, on so many levels. Marti’s figurative ceramic sculptures use symbolic motifs to reveal narrative through attention to details and texture, while Binuta’s abstract paintings explore the relationship between light and color to evoke the underlying spirituality that guides her in her life journey.

All visitors must wear a face mask and follow social distancing guidelines set out for attendees. Due to public health concerns, the Pence is not hosting a reception or talk in conjunction with this exhibit.
