J. Mane Gallery is pleased to present the Watercolors online juried art exhibition.

“Watercolor is a medium that can be as demanding and temperamental as those who choose to paint with it. But it is a colorful and exciting medium all the same – well suited to describing the many moods of the subject, as well as those of the artist wielding the brush”. ~Jean Burman

For this competition, artists were encouraged to share their artistic vision using watercolors.  All subjects were accepted and the artwork presented varied from realism to surrealism to abstraction. All artists over the age of 18, regardless of location or experience, were encouraged to submit their best inspired work.

Each of our monthly themed exhibitions, awards for First, Second and Third Place.  The First Place winner for the Watercolors show is Padma Aleti for her Dancing In The Snow. The judges felt his image truly captured the spirit of the theme of the show and showed excellent technique with the medium. Padma is also the Featured Artist for the duration of the show.

Taking Second Place is Linda McCord for Back To Back.  Linda’s treatment of the subject are what made her work stand apart. Third Place goes to Theodore Heublein for El Captain Through The Trees.  His technique with the medium shows lovely movement and color composition.

Five artists were given honorable mention awards. Daniel Kabakoff for One Tree, Ron Pattern for Winter Birches, Katherine Peper for Splash, Regina Roland for Winter Birches and Jos Stumpe for Dreaming Of Provincetown. Each of these artists showed excellent command of the medium in a unique way and with respect to the subject.

Please visit the Award Winners Page  to learn more about each of these award winning artists and to contact them directly about their work.

The remaining artists included in the exhibition serve as an example of impressive talent and we are honored to showcase their artwork on the J. Mane Gallery website.

We thank all the competition participants.

Mane Gallery does not enter into the selling of artwork featured in any of the monthly online exhibitions. You will find the artist's website or email by clicking on their names below.
