J. Mane Gallery is pleased to present its 2022 Mind Body Spirit International Online Juried Art Exhibition.

Oscar Wilde said, "Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter."

Throughout history, the human figure has always been a common subject of visual art, involving the study and appreciation of it's beauty in it's depiction and presentation.  An awareness of the body shape, including postures like sitting, standing or sleeping and movements such as walking, running or dancing, speak to the ideal subject.

We invited artists to submit work that best represents the figure and the human spirit.  All artists over the age of 18, regardless of location or experience, were encouraged to submit their best art and photography.

Each of our themed exhibitions, awards for First, Second and Third Place.  The First Place winner for the 2022 Mind Body Spirit show is Aaron Krone for his graphite drawing, Emotion. Aaron captured the essence of the theme and his excellent command of the medium and composition are what set his work apart. Aaron is also the Featured Artist for the next four weeks.

Taking Second Place is Mingxian Xiao for his oil on canvas, Cage. Mingxian’s creativity and originality with composition evoke a mood that leaves the viewer wanting to know more. And, Third Place goes to Nikki Coulombe for her graphite on paper, Renee At Dance Class.  The technique with the medium are wonderful as is the quality of artistic composition and overall design based on the theme. The viewer feels as if they are in dance class as well.

Honorable Mention awards were given as well. Honorable Mention awards go to Padma Aleti for her watercolor, Laundress, Michael J. Duke for his enhanced photograph, Dwelling On Lost Youth, Norm Ellis, for Fantasy 41, Gina Judy for her watercolor, Sisterly Warmth, Guy Munsch for his charcoal and pastel, Alexander, and Deborah Zavon, for pastel, The Girls. Please visit the Monthly Winners Page to learn more about each of these award winning artists and to contact them directly about their work.

We thank all the competition participants.
