With one of the largest contemporary art shows in the world around the corner, is not a surprise that artists, galleries and collectors alike are planning their best moves as participants or attendees of exhibits, shows or events during Art Basel Week in Miami in December.

One of the new additions, and a very promising one, will be Arts KUALA LUMPUR-Miami, an art exhibit event that will showcase some of the best emerging, mid-career and established Malaysian artists, through multiple creative disciplines. Its premiere edition will coincide with Art Basel Week in Miami, FL (USA), and other important art related fairs such as Design Miami, Scope, Art Asia, and many more.

The works of 30 Malaysian artists, selected by Norsham Blasko, will cross the oceans to be exposed to the international art world atArts KUALA LUMPUR-Miami’s own venue in the heart of the renowned Wynwood Arts District, in Miami, one of the largest and most prominent creative communities in the United States, at 2235 NW 2nd Ave. Miami, FL 33127.

Malaysia is melting-pot of races and religions where Malays, Indians, Chinese and many other ethnic groups live together in peace and harmony, reflected in the gracefulness and hospitality that its people is known for. The arts play a fundamental role as an expression of multiple cultures sharing their own heritage; other important disciplines include dance, music and crafts. This multicultural nation has become a gastronomical paradise and home to hundreds of colorful festivals as well.

This government-supported initiative will comprehensively blend art, lifestyle and corporate branding through an avant-garde schedule of events that will position Malaysian artists within the international art market, while sharing their impactful and creative genius with the world.

Arts KUALA LUMPUR is the joint effort of iMAGE International Connection Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) and The Connector Group International LLC (USA). The project is organized by Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) in collaboration with National Visual Art Gallery (NVAG), Malaysia.
