The Golden Age of British Horror - original International movie posters.
The 1950s to 1970s saw a dramatic change in British horror. Referred to as horror’s golden age, the period saw actors such as Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing become household names, while the British horror film studios became a major influence worldwide.
From the early gothic style to the infiltration of pop culture in the 1970s, this exhibition takes a look at films from this period and how they were marketed through a collection of rare original lobby cards and posters from around the world. A selection of the museum’s own weird and macabre objects are also on display.
Aberystwyth Arts Centre Touring exhibitions, curated by Abertoir Horror Festival.
