This show unites the work from the painters on the Turps Studio Programme, many of who will be leaving after two years.
Turps has created an environment where the painters feel comfortable enough to act accordingly to their own instincts; an environment where the painters feel at ease to be who they are. Through their dedication, this current group of painters have risen successfully to the difficult challenge of what it may mean to be an artist in these current times. As a collective they have started to define a type of ethos that will be associated with the Studio Programme.
Mentors and visitors have also made the Programme a success, and everyone thanks them for their enthusiasm, support and generosity. Mentors have shown a seamlessness between their own studio practice and their teaching practice and have been incredibly generous with their time.
