Artist Statement/ Bio:

Ana Pallares is a self-taught artist born in Barcelona in 1993 that attempts to reflect on things like pain and death and other intangible realities which all to often occur with little reason.

She strives to find and attach new meanings to these realities hoping to present them in a healthier more manageable way- ultimately aiming to turn destructive feelings into constructive action.

Ana has also been portraying all the characters that she is intellectually, emotionally or sexually attracted to.

She has exhibited in London at The Brick Lane Gallery, Lacey Contemporary and Walton Fine Arts and at Illustrated 2016 art fair as well. Ana has showed in Barcelona and Madrid too.

She has ocassionally worked as an illustrator for some digital culture magazines.

Exhibition:

In this exhibition you will find a collection of illustrations that Ana Pallares created from 2012 to 2015.

These works were done using markers, Posca markers and acrylic paints.

The pieces reflect on Ana's own moods, emotions and thoughts and that is why many of the works are self-portraits. You will also see some portraits of the characters that she finds atractive in some kind of way.
