North Shropshire based Artist Morven Browne was brought up in Dumfriesshire. Inspired by her rural background and the relationship of movement and light within the natural world, she has created a series of sculptural forms that reflect the ever changing and ephemeral nature of this association.
The viewer perceives a forest has been planted within the exhibition space with seedlings emerging from cracks, swaying trees and swirling leaves, movement can be seen within some pieces but is only implied within others.
The elegant sculptural forms are made from laminated birch, paper and metals such as silver, copper and brass which have been textured and patinated and then soldered or riveted together.
Meet the artist - Saturday 4th June 2016 11am - 4pm.
