A spectacular performance for National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts
National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) has been long-waited to open southern Taiwan to the world with finest artistic works. Preparatory office of National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts invited the most renowned cross-disciplinary new media arts team—Wonders of Art to produce The First Seeds, an unprecedented live performance show with 3D building projection video on the facade of the building. The audience will enjoy the tremendous video mapping show (223m wide X 39m high) as well as watch live performers animatedly jumping out of the images of the building!

The First Seeds--A 3D Rhapsody of Sound and Images, Video Mapping Show
Theaters in the 21st century are no longer limited to the genre of music, dancing, and drama performance. The creation and experience of the multimedia and immersive theater have provided brand-new imagination, enjoyment, and interaction space for the artist and the audience. Wonders of Art, the creative team of the thematic show Window of the City for 2010 Shanghai World Expo, has returned for this cross-disciplinary new media performance. After integrating the concept of the architectural design that National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) is surrounded by banyan tree originally, Wonders of Art is inspired to take the audience to a fascinating journey into the woods of the memory under banyan tree.
The customized video mapping show will not only present the architectural beauty of Weiwuying, but also showcase its historical development from military camps in the past to one of the leading art centers in the world nowadays. The audience will enjoy traveling in time for a tea-time break under a banyan tree or for a pleasant chat, namely countless good old time in our memories.
Starting with the amazing giant video mapping show, joining by numerous genres of live performances, an unlimited well-rounded art feast is ready to sweep the world! The special casting is listed but not limited to the follows: the well-known children chorus in southern Taiwan, Kaohsiung Children Chorus, is going to sing "The Ode to Joy" to present joyful and glorious music. Mystery dancers and singers will pop up along with the show. Your imagination can goes even wilder when the famous bands present songs with the video jamming show at the jointly performed world music festival- "Hotter than the Sun Music Festival".
The First Seeds: Interactive Audiovisual Installation Exhibition
Apart from the video mapping show, Wonders of Art holds an exhibition of interactive audiovisual installation art at the Banyan Plaza. Now the young artists are whole-heartedly working on their piece of work and are looking forward to presenting the best of their creation to the audience coming to the exhibition. The outstanding creations further enrich.
Serina Chen, director in chief, says that the title of The First Seeds stands for the hope of beginning a new era for the new arts center in Taiwan. This show will become the first seeds of the art growing stronger and more splendid in Southern Taiwan, and moreover, in Asia!
Time and Place
THE FIRST SEEDS – A 3D Rhapsody of Sound and Images, Video Mapping Show at National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying). There will be 3 performances every night from November 22nd to 26th (Wednesday to Sunday) starts at 7 pm at lawn area south to the Art Center. The Interactive Audiovisual Installation Exhibition will be open from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. During video mapping show sessions, the installations will be open to limited audience, tickets to be offered by information desks on two sides of the outdoor theater area.
