The Florence Academy of Art is pleased to host Richard Greathouse, Recent Paintings.

Artist ( Description ):

Richard Greathouse was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. From 2005 to 2006 he studied architecture at the University of Virginia. In 2008 he decided to dedicate himself to painting and enrolled in The Florence Academy of Art, Florence, Italy. After graduating in 2011, he stayed on for an extra year of specialized study with the Academy's founder and director, Daniel Graves, as a recipient of the 4th Year Prize, while also teaching there. Richard spent one year at teaching Anatomy and Painting at the Academy's U.S. campus in 2015, and returned to Florence in 2016 as Director of the Anatomy Program and principal instructor in the Painting Program. As each year passes, he is reminded of and embraces the fact that he will always be a student to art, and he enjoys having the opportunity to bring others into such a pursuit.
