Night Creatures, an international online solo photography exhibition by Lev Spiro opens on February 25 and will continue through March 27, 2022.

Lev Spiro's photography is unique. His gardens are filled with mystery, wonder, and visions of loveliness. These photos serve as an escape into the natural world. At the same time, these photos reflect depths of darkness and project ones subconscious fears, and attempts to assert mastery over them.

As he qouted in his statement from James Baldwin: "One discovers the light in darkness, that is what darkness is for."

Artist ( Description ):

Lev L. Spiro is a photographer and filmmaker whose fine art photography tries to convey the sense of mystery, awe and wonder he finds in the natural world.

A longtime lover of street photography and landscapes, Lev recently turned his attention to the more intimate landscape of his gardens. He's studied extensively with photographers Susan Burnstine and Eddie Soloway. Images from his series “Fugitive Light” and "Night Creatures" have been chosen for multiple exhibitions from September 2020 through present.

Lev is also well known for his work directing over 165 television episodes, pilots and features, including Emmy-award winning series such as Orange is the New Black, Modern Family, Weeds and Arrested Development.

Lev lives in Los Angeles, California with his wife, writer/producer Melissa Rosenberg and their two dogs T. Beau and Luna, who often accompany him and make helpful suggestions as he makes images.
