Transcendent Journeys, an international online solo photo exhibition by Max Alper, opens on May 01, 2023, and will continue through May 31, 2023.
Max Alper's photos in "Transcendent Journeys" are very personal since they were created after the death of his mother. They are pictorial metaphors of the traditional after-death concept of the soul rising and being enveloped by light. In these images, individuals approach and pass through restricted, and sometimes claustrophobic, space -- corridors, rooms, streets, and tunnels. The visual narrative movement is from a realm of shadows toward the brilliance of light. These environments create settings for a journey that ultimately leads to the release and freedom of the spirit.

Artist:
Max Victor Alper has shown his fine art photographs in almost 200 galleries in the United States and Europe. He has published two books with more than one hundred images (published by Macmillan). Recently, his photographs have been selected for exhibits at Art Basel-Miami. He was awarded a Residency at the prestigious American Academy in Rome. Alper served as a faculty member and administrator at New York University.
