Thrives On Light, an international online solo drawing art exhibition by David Mason opens on March 01, and will continue for two months until April 30, 2024.
David Mason's work is inspired by realism and minimalism. With a background in photography he sees things within a frame. Through his drawings, he invites viewers to imagine their own context and story, since he focuses on what’s primary in a scene and just develop that imagery. As a self-taught artist, through mixing and layering color pencil, he improves his techniques, and by experimenting more with texture and classic looks, he achieves new levels of harmony and finesse.

Artist:
California native, currently living in Truckee. Both of my parents are artists and also growing up in Carmel gave me a great creative environment. Discovering photography very early, around ten, helped me find my unique vision and sense of aesthetics. I was always drawing, figuring it out on my own. In college, Cal Poly SLO, applied art and design with photography were my studies. To give myself time to find my direction and style I landed in the restaurant business, so the night time career was supporting my art career. I found opportunities exhibiting my art through out California and Scottsdale, AZ through gallery features. Dealing with the demands of life there have been slow times, and challenges, but currently and for the past few years I am constantly working and making my most exciting work.
