Dancers in the Trees, an international online solo painting art exhibition by Susan E Wheeler - Sew opens on April 12, and will continue for two months until June 12, 2024.

In her landscape paintings, Susan E Wheeler - Sew explores the profound connection between life and nature. Each canvas is a vibrant tapestry of the natural world, where hidden figures emerge to convey the perpetual movement and vitality that course through both our existence and the environment around us. Through intricate details and subtle symbolism, she invites viewers to discover these concealed elements, inviting them to contemplate the intricate dance of existence. Her art seeks to illuminate the beauty of impermanence and the ever-evolving relationship between humanity and the Earth.

Artist ( Description ):

I grew up in the arid beauty of Eastern Washington, in Kennewick, one of the Tri-Cities. Moving to lush Western Washington revealed the Pacific Northwest's green, moist allure. Outdoors beckon me, especially in fair weather. In my youth, I dedicated myself to dance—ballet, modern, jazz, and tap. Later, Argentine tango became my passion. Today, I dance through my paintings, infusing landscapes with hidden figures to express the motion in nature.

As a former dancer and choreographer, I understand the joy of movement, akin to the delight I find in nature. Living here, I've embraced the Pacific Northwest's ways, like layering clothing and going makeup-free. My art celebrates the surrounding mountains: Rainier, St. Helens, Adams, Glacier Peak, Baker, the Olympics, and the Cascades. Their boundless beauty inspires me, akin to a child entering Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.

My husband, Mike, and I enjoy occasional travel, where new vistas find their way into my artwork.
