Blurring Into View, an international online solo exhibition by Linda Obobaifo opens on August 01 and will continue through August 31, 2023.
Linda Obobaifo's artworks explore multiple themes, such as racism in America, post-apocalyptic and scientific exploration of our dying environment, women's beauty standards, and the exploration of childhood memories. Through the illusion of space, movement, light, aided by musical compositions/soundscapes, and written and spoken word (poetry), she creates artworks that inform her audiences on the prevalent issues in our society. Her artworks are connected through the colors red, black/grey, and white; these colors are aesthetically pleasing to the eye, while the vibrant color red, also serves as a warning - amplifying the importance of each message conveyed.

Artist:
Born and raised in Illinois, I grew up experiencing a diverse background in musical theatre, music (violin/orchestra, guitar, and piano), vocal performance, and dance. As my work deals with the merging of my identity as a Black woman in America and the Black American experience, I pair abstract geometrical painting, representational painting, poetry, and musical soundscape art to explore multiple themes: the challenges faced within the Black American experience, post-apocalyptic and scientific exploration of our dying environment provoked by self-destructive behaviors, the psychological effects and consequences of women's beauty standards, and the exploration of how childhood memories affect adulthood.
