Asian Cultural Council (ACC), the preeminent New York-based organization advancing international dialogue through arts and cultural exchange between Asia and the U.S., hosts its first west coast event on Thursday September 28th, ACC Voices. Organized in partnership with Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, the program features a reception and panel discussion moderated by Soo Kim (Department Director of Artist Community Teaching at Otis) with visual artists York Chang, Cathy Lu (ACC 2019), and Shirley Tse. They will discuss how ideas of subjectivity, identity, and race appear in and inform creative or critical practices. ACC Executive Director Judy Kim will also share information on ACC’s Fellowship and grant opportunities enabling artists, scholars, and arts professionals to travel between Asia and the U.S. in preparation for ACC’s upcoming grant cycle in November.
