“MOODS” is an exhibit of paintings and sculptures by Gallery Houses’ three European artists, Eric Saint Georges, France,  Elis Minborg, Sweden, and Leonid Kolyesnikov, Ukraine. The show is featured at Gallery House, 320 S. California Ave., Palo Alto, CA (650) 326-1668 from January 31st to February 25th, 2017. A reception with the artists will take place on Sunday, February 5, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.. The public is invited. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Artist, Eric Saint Georges’ current focus is on sculpture (mostly clay) and drawing  (combining charcoal, ink and watercolor),are predominantly figurative. “These mediums allow me to work quickly, my main interest being to capture life and energy in as spontaneous and raw a manner as possible. I do my sculptures and drawings mostly from live models”.

Artist, Elis Minborg was brought up in Sweden and has dedicated most of his career studying design through art. His creative process includes a wide variety of media and techniques, ranging from digital vectors to rural folk painting. Watercolors and markers make the foundation for his paintings while mediums such as acrylics, gels and glazes help bring out the surreal, imaginative side of the colors.

Artist, Leonid Kolyesnikov was born in Poltava, Ukraine. Since childhood, drawing was his prime interest. He earned his PhD in forestry and for 40 years he was a full professor of entomology, ecology and forestry in Agrarian Academy in Poltava. All his works are plein air done in oil pastel technique. A tempo is very important. Oil pastel allows the artist to quickly capture beautiful moments we encounter with nature.He continues to work with oils, which allow him to return to the same theme multiple times.
