Spoke SF is pleased to present Nymphaea, a solo exhibition by Miami-based painter Tatiana Suarez. For her inaugural solo exhibition at Spoke Art, Suarez has created an ethereal body of paintings and watercolors continuing to explore the tropical world she has constructed for her darkly-sensual feminine figures.

Night blooming water lilies serve as both inspiration for the painting and the title of the exhibition, the new work in Nymphaea inhabit a lush and marshy world. Each of Suarez’s figures have a primordial connection to the flora and fauna that inhabit the work with them. The artist’s signature style of female portraiture has matured to include a darker, more complex and cultivated expression.

Inspired by the folklore and mythology of her hometown and heritage, Suarez has created a world rich with symbolism and history contained within her paintings. The lotus flowers and lilies, much like the women within the work exude a sense of strength and rebirth, emerging from the murky, uncertain waters.

Please join us for Nymphaea, opening Saturday, March 3rd, with an opening night reception from 6pm - 9pm where the artist will be present. The exhibition will be on view through Saturday, March 24th.  For more information or additional images, please email us at SF@spoke-art.com.
