The Kravets Wehby Gallery presents the opening of Anthology Being by Justin Samson.

The paintings in this exhibition form an assemblage that tells a story much in the way an anthology features a collection of literary work. The title of each painting is taken from the table of contents of a large anthology found in a Masonic Library. Masonry, mythology and allegory are of special importance in Anthology Being. This body of work features several mediums sampled and collaged together in a modular format creating a large scale installation. The shape and space of the gallery define the ways in which each painting communicates to one another and help transform the work to become components of the same anthology.

Justin Samson studied at the School of Visual Arts and is based in New York City. His work has been shown at the Nassau County Museum of Art, Peres Projects, and Deitch Projects. This is his third solo show at Kravets Wehby Gallery.
