Ashley Collins is a contemporary American painter recognized for her large-scale oil paintings. Collins’ deeply layered works integrate portions of figurative horseheads and silhouettes, among subtle imagery from vintage photographs, literature and postcards. The exhibition includes new encaustic works that are homage to the Velveteen Rabbit’s question “What is Real?”  Also included will be the release of her first prints in 15 years created with the influence of a fourth generation Japanese printmaker named Izumi Kato.
