The Brick Lane Gallery is proud to present the newest a last edition of the year of ART IN MIND, a group exhibition displaying multimedia works, from painting to sculpture, mixed media artworks and collages. Showcasing works of international artists, this exhibition aims to bring to the public innovative approaches to art, original techniques and embrace a wide range of artistic practices.

Creating paintings that oscillate between the abstract and the figurative, Mikael Pennanen aims to convey and capture emotions between his layers of bright acrylic paint. Another exhibiting artist, Brigit Bell Ritchie presents a collection of innovative works that are both abstract and hyper-detailed. Appearing as digital drawings, her artworks are produced by combination of unexpected media, including spray paint, ink and pencil. Also working with abstraction is Ekaterina Sergeeva, bringing a body of work rich with bold colours and shapes. A colourful palette is also what makes Kome Eleyae’s portraits an ‘exploration of colour’. His practice sees him fragmenting and reconstructing compositions in exaggerated colours. Just as Eleyae assembles in in his own way the attributes of the figure portrayed to reproduce an augmented version of him/her. Marian González also creates new meaning by dislocating images, creating new narratives born from the assemblage of different images. She brings to this show a series of collages of pictures and writings sourced from various printed materials. ‘The action of cutting and pasting is present in all my work, just as union and separation are constant in my artistic production’. Moonheart Lily conveys in her painting feelings towards nature and emotions. Having been hospitalized for mental illness, she found in painting a way to relax and find comfort. Suzanne Garnier-Weythman addresses nature in a different way. Having become fascinated by hummingbirds, she recently began using a stream of continuous photography to capture their movements ‘I became aware they resemble tiny warriors’.
