Illustrator, author, and prominent QC, Frank Hinks will present his original hand-painted illustrations at The Cello Factory, Waterloo, to celebrate the publication of his illustrated storybook Rock of Ramion.
Frank Hinks will showcase over 100 colourful surreal paintings that illustrate the adventures of his family, who have been transformed into larger than life characters for his fantasy storybook Rock of Ramion. The stories and illustrations featured in this unique book and exhibition were inspired by the bedtime stories Frank created for his own children.
Over the past 20 years, Frank has created over 550 illustrations with pen and gouache. The paintings are colourful yet macabre, and are heavily influenced by Frank’s passion for punk rock. The show will also exhibit larger prints mounted on metal, together with works by Hinks’ family members, including abstract paintings by his son Alexander, and a series of photographs entitled a Pocketful of Posies by his wife, Susan Haire, both of whom are professional artists.
