Simon MacEwan - The Floating World

For his solo exhibition at Anna Pappas Gallery, Simon MacEwan will present an artwork newly commissioned by Brisbane City Council. Spanning 8 metres in length, MacEwan will create his most ambitious work to date. In addition to this installation, MacEwan will present a new, experimental body of work that uses a drawing machine. This work extends MacEwan’s themes of mechanical and post-apocalyptic city scapes with absurd imagery. In this instance, rather than portraying a futuristic world, MacEwan presents the mechanisms that will exist in the future worlds of his imagining.
