Tanya Baxter Contemporary was founded in 1998 in London and Hong Kong, where the company continues to bridge the gap between the Western and Chinese art markets. The art advisory has long been known for sourcing key artists for international collectors from the Post-War Modern, Modern British and Contemporary art schools, including Andy Warhol, Henry Moore, John Hoyland, Terry Frost, Damien Hirst, Zeng Chuanxing, Marc Quinn, Bridget Riley, Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud and Banksy.
Additionally the gallery champions international mid-career artists including Pip Todd-Warmoth, Sacha Jafri, Zhuang Hong Yi and Zhao Kailin, as well as supporting emerging talent such as Benjamin Warner, Rhed Ritchie and Phulani Liebenberg. Tanya Baxter Contemporary advises ultra-high net worth private individuals, corporate collections and foundations, from curating their collections to commissioning public and private space artworks as well as high-end residential projects. They have been the exclusive partner at the Heathrow VIP Lounge in Terminal Five since 2014. Tanya Baxter is a guest lecturer at Sotheby’s institute in art for investment and collecting contemporary art. She was recently invited to join the panel at the 10th annual LAPADA conference in the House of Lords. (The art advisory has been a member of LAPADA for 20 years.) The art advisory exhibits at major international art fairs in London, Paris, New York, Monaco, Hong Kong and Singapore; including Masterpiece London, LAPADA Fine Art & Antiques Fair, The Affordable Art Fair in Hong Kong and Singapore, Fine Art Asia, Art Stage Singapore and the Olympia Fine Art & Antiques Fair amongst others. Curated exhibitions have also been arranged for clients at The Royal Academy and Saatchi Gallery. Tanya Baxter Contemporary assists their private and corporate clients with research, sourcing and negotiating acquisitions as well as curating and collating collections to the final installation and transport.
