- About -

Salone Verde is a distinctive exhibition venue in the heart of Venice, combining raw historical character with a refined contemporary infrastructure. Carefully refurbished between 2020 and 2022, the space occupies a fragment of a former Venetian palazzo, preserving its layered architectural history while introducing flexible, exhibition-ready conditions. The venue comprises two parallel halls (130 and 160 sqm, with ceiling heights of 4–6 meters) connected by an 80 sqm open courtyard, creating a fluid indoor–outdoor sequence.
A rare private water entrance (porta d’acqua) provides direct boat access, facilitating the transport of artworks and materials - a logistical advantage within the city. Located in Santa Croce, near Campo San Cassian and within walking distance of Ca’ Pesaro and the Fondazione Prada, Salone Verde sits slightly apart from the densest tourist flows while remaining centrally positioned. Vaporetto Line 1 (San Stae or Rialto Mercato) and proximity to the Grand Canal ensure ease of access. Equipped with ERCO lighting, climate control, skylights with blackout, sound system, and production facilities, the venue supports a wide range of exhibitions, events, and interdisciplinary projects. Its adaptable layout and infrastructural capacity make it particularly suited to collateral presentations during the Venice Biennale. Conceived as more than a rental space, Salone Verde also functions as an art and social club, an evolving platform for cultural exchange and collective thinking around modes of living, production, and collaboration in a contemporary urban context.
