- About -

Born in Buenos Aires Argentina - 1960 Artist Statement: The essence of my artwork is related to personal experiences, socio-political issues and the environment; depicting the challenges we confront as humans and my concern of how the eco system is reacting on human behaviors. I materialize these concepts into acrylic paintings, ceramic sculptures and mixed media installations. I have interest in the use of found objects and recycled materials such as plastic, glass and tiles. The process of my artworks is in part spontaneity, supported by current events as well as what the subconscious has saved throughout my lifetime. My recent work “Formation/Deformation” is an ongoing project during my temporary stay in Berlin.
This body of works present a visual interpretation of aspects found between the imaginary and the reality of climate change, the alteration of the ecosystem and the oil pollution in the ocean. It symbolizes a reference to the environment, taking into consideration the planet’s reaction to human behavior. Each color line has three to four coats of acrylic paint, with this process I can achieved a dramatic contrast to the background. The color lines represent minerals, oil, soil, grass and water. In this particular project I did not considered figurative elements, instead I want to interpret the metamorphosis of the ecosystem. The mediums I use for this project are acrylic, color pencil, oil pen and ink; the supports to develop these concepts are canvas and recycled wood. The Aerial Views are works on paper with acrylic and metallic candy paper that I have been collecting from Poland, Berlin and my favorite sweet “alfajores” from my native country.
