The Pence Gallery Healing Arts Workshop uses art as a healing language for those experiencing grief from the loss of a family member or friend. Art-based interventions can improve a person’s coping skills and their overall quality of life. Creating art projects provides opportunities for discussion, education, and connecting with peers in a safe and supportive space. The art media utilized is carefully chosen to create an outlet for grief, providing tangible ways of memorializing and remembering, and helping to bridge the gap in expressing difficult emotions. Participants must be 18 or older, and no art experience is necessary.
