A Global Perspective: Art in the Landscape
In sites around the world, sometimes far from the globalized art market, artists and curators are experimenting with site, intervening in structures, and working in nature, pastoral, denigrated, or wild.
This new, contextually conscious art practice is supported by a less formal notion of museum, a dispersed museum where context matters, where old and new buildings can coexist, and where outdoor space is as valued as classic interior galleries.
Looking beyond Los Angeles, moderator Raymund Ryan will lead a panel discussion of cultural figures in this evolving paradigm.
