On Saturday, April 13, 6-9:30 pm, the Los Angeles Center of Photography (LACP), a 501(c)3 charitable organization, is hosting their 4th Annual Fundraising Gala at Quixote Studios.

This year, the organization celebrates its 20th anniversary, formerly created as The Julia Dean Photo Workshops and founded in 1999 by Julia Dean, LACP’s Executive Director.

LACP is proud to honor portrait, entertainment and advertising photographer Art Streiber for his years of continued excellence and his commitment to the photographic community. Multi-award-winning actress, author, and activist Jamie Lee Curtis will present the honor.

The Center is seeking to raise $250,000 to support its programming as well as its outreach efforts with the Boys & Girls Clubs in around Los Angeles and the Spark Program.  Currently, LACP teaches photography to over 100 Los Angeles children through its Boys & Girls Club after-school program.

Further, LACP hopes to move into a new space that will serve as a true state-of-the-art center for the photographic community.  More classrooms, a dedicated gallery space, library, café, traditional darkroom and an expanded digital lab will be part of the new facility.

Festivities on April 13 will include cocktails, appetizers, musical entertainment and a photo booth. The evening will feature a silent auction of photographs from award-winning photographers with proceeds benefiting LACP.
