"Dreamcatcher" is a large-scale interactive installation that was inspired by the magical ice caves of Kamchatka in Siberia. The sculpted surface on the inside of the sculpture is an echo of ancient times when tribes would gather around warmth during the winter months. Akin to stoking a fire, this communal space features an interactive “hearth” through which visitors, by gently pressing its buttons, can explore luminous color variations. The sculpture’s white interior glows with colorful transformations each time the visitor presses the button. Not unlike a James Turrell installation, the light envelopes the viewer, creating a warm atmosphere contrasting with the winter exterior of the surrounding mountains of Stowe.
