Lux After Dark: A New Territory!

Lux Art Institute is excited to announce the return of our annual Lux After Dark event presented in a unique hybrid format taking place on both October 16th and 17th, 2020.  Lux After Dark: A New Territory is working to make our one of a kind art experiences accessible to everyone through a two-night set of programming to help raise funds for our exhibitions of contemporary art, revolutionary educational programming, and public community building events.

A Drive-Thru Art Experience takes place on October 16th from 7-9pm. From the comfort of your own vehicle you, your family, and friends can experience an evening of spectacular art, site-specific installations, performances, and sound art, presented across Lux’s campus. Tickets for this event start at $25 per vehicle with upgrade opportunities including art activities for kids, a gourmet travel snack provided by MIHO catering, and exclusive opportunities to park and engage with the art.

Enhance your visit with a VIP Upgrade.  Lux’s VIP experience allows you to tour the Drive-Thru Art exhibition across Lux’s campus followed by a private, socially-distant event in our backyard garden space including, Light fare, specialty cocktails, and a live entertainment program featuring San Diego Dance Theater and musical duo, Little Hurricane.

On October 17, our second night of programming commences with a free Virtual Fundraiser presented through Zoom. This event features our traditional gala events like the presentation of our annual Luxie Award and paddle raise, but will also feature guest performances.

Lux's Digital Live Auction takes place from October 14th through October 19th, giving you more opportunities to bid and win one of our fantastic auction items from our generous sponsors. We are excited to welcome our beloved community back to Lux. We believe in the power of art to help our community through these difficult times and aim to continue to bring accessible contemporary art and arts education programming to everyone.
