BLUE RIDGE Paintings is an exhibition of artist Andrei Kushnir's new work. Twenty plein air paintings from Skyline Drive, Virginia, overlooking the Shenandoah Valley, will be displayed at American Painting Fine Art gallery spaces, located in Suite 17, in the Salt & Pepper Restaurant building, 5125 MacArthur Blvd., NW, Washington, DC 20016, 202-244-3244.  Gallery website: classicamericanpainting.com.  The paintings will be accompanied by a 24 page catalog with images of each work, and will include original poems by Michele Martin Taylor.  The catalog will be available, on request to the gallery. A price list will be included with each catalog. 

This exhibition follows the publication of Mr. Kushnir's groundbreaking and acclaimed book of paintings, Oh, Shenandoah, issued by George F. Thompson Publishing, Staunton, VA, and distributed by the University of Virginia Press.  Paintings from the Oh, Shenandoah book were exhibited at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Winchester, VA (2016) and the James Madison University Duke Gallery of Fine Art, Harrisonburg, VA (2017), with a third exhibition scheduled at the Virginia Historical Society (Summer, 2018).  BLUE RIDGE Paintings will present new scenic aerial views of the Shenandoah Valley, as well as the artist's favorite locations along Skyline Drive, National Park Service, VA. 

Artist ( Description ): 

Andrei Kushnir has exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States. He is an elected signature member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, the Washington Society of Landscape Painters, and the Salmagundi Club, NYC, an official US Coast Guard Official Artist, and member of Oil Painters of America.  His work is in the public collections of the US Coast Guard, DC Commission on Arts and Humanities, University of Maryland University College, South Florida State College Museum of Florida’s Art & Culture, the Virginia Historical Society, Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, the University Club, Washington, DC and in numerous private collections around the world.  He is the only living artist accorded an exhibition at the Virginia Historical Society, and founder of the Potomac River School artists. He is the author of 7 books of his work, including Oh, Shenandoah, GFT Publishing, 2016.
