"Curious Maps of Impossible Places"

Country:

Categories:

Curious Maps of Impossible Places is a “collection of abstract maps with trails and paths
through the terrain of the absurd and wondrous.  Maps to follow without any certainty of arrival.
Maps to take along when a map will do no good at all.”

Artist ( Description ):

Neil Murphy

Other Info:

Neil Murphy’s paintings are unusual not only because of his offbeat subjects and rich sense
of color, but also because of an unusual creative process that involves roundtrips between the
digital realm and traditional media. Paintings start as layers of acrylic washes on unprimed
canvas, are digitized, then further worked and reassembled in the digital domain. They are
finalized as hand-painted limited edition prints.

Venue ( Address ):

  • Peninsula Art Institute
  • 1777 California Drive
  • Burlingame, CA 94010
