Vertical Gallery is proud to present the debut USA solo show from French street artist OAKOAK. OAKOAK transforms mundane objects using cleverly placed, humorous drawings. He has an eye for details that most people ignore, and creates innovative scenes with his street art interventions. The exhibition is October 3 - 31, 2015, with and opening reception Saturday, October 3rd, 6-10pm.
About the show from OAKOAK: “For me the street is a true source of inspiration. Some have fun on a basketball court or a football field. My playground is the streets. I like wandering around new cities, new places in search of elements I can play with and divert into something new, something inspired by my own references and influences: comic-strips, cartoons, video-games…”

Vertical Gallery is committed to exhibiting and promoting urban, contemporary and street art. Established in 2013 in Chicago’s Ukrainian Village neighborhood, the gallery focuses on work influenced by urban environments, street art, pop culture, graphic design and illustration. The gallery is working to bring this art form to a broader audience and eliminate the barriers that exist between traditional institutions, contemporary galleries, art collectors and casual viewers.
New monthly exhibits highlight local, national and international artists. You may view and purchase past and current work either in the gallery space or online. Vertical Gallery also consults on creating new collections, corporate collections, and secondary market artwork.
