JUDGE

Alice Wu, Art Sales Manager at Kala Art Institute

Bio: Alice Wu joined Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, CA in January 2017 with more than 15 years of experience working in the arts and as a creative entrepreneur. Alice oversees Kala's Art Sales Program in the Mercy and Roger Smullen Print and Media Center, represents Kala at several art fairs, and plays an essential role in working with artists for Kala’s annual auction. Previously, she has worked for the San Francisco Arts Commission Galleries, and curated an exhibition series at Legion in San Francisco Chinatown, #LegionPresents, funded by a Southern Exposure Alternative Exposures Grant. Alice is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans fashion, sculpture, performance, and curatorial projects. Alice co-founded Feral Childe, a clothing, textiles, and accessories line produced in New York City and sold through retailers in the U.S. and abroad from 2002-2015. Alice received an M.F.A. in Sculpture from Yale University.

Friday & Saturday, June 23rd and 24th, 2017, 10AM - 4PM.  All work must be hand-delivered to PAL. No shipped work will be accepted.

PICK UP WORK

M-F, July 24th-28th , 10AM - 4PM.

SUBMISSION PROCESS

Submit your artwork electronically at https://pacificartleague.submittable.com/submit

ENTRY FEE

Members: $40 for first entry, $10 for each additional entry. Non-members: $50 for first entry, $10 for each additional entry.

SELECTION NOTIFICATION

Thursday, June 15th, 2017 by email. Award winners are announced at the Friday, July 7th opening reception.

EXHIBITION GUIDELINES

  • All work must be original and not previously exhibited at Pacific Art League.
  • All 2D work must be ready to hang on a wire
  • All 2D work must be framed or on gallery-wrapped canvas with finished edges.
  • Size of work limited to 40” wide by 50” tall, including frame. (contact below for inquiry)
  • All work must be for sale. Members receive 70% of sale price. Non-members receive 60% of sale price.
  • All work must be labeled on the front and back with title and artist’s name.
