Variation #5, Triptych, mixed media on acrylic glass, mounted on dibond

Russian-born contemporary visual artist Inga Krymskaya will be exhibiting a piece from her latest project 3045 Variations on The Feast of Venus, at New York’s Affordable Art Fair on 10 – 13 September 2015.

Strongly influenced by humanism, Rubens’ original work was an interpretation of Titian’s iconic painting The Worship of Venus. An important work in its own right, Ruben’s reproduction The Feast of Venus was the inspiration behind Inga Krymskaya’s latest project, 3045 Variations on The Feast of Venus.

With 3045 Variations on The Feast of Venus, Inga explores the different possibilities conceivable on one theme, using various mediums to expand Rubens’ painting and give another conceptual interpretation each time. Inga’s fifth variation (pictured) is a triptych using mixed media on acrylic glass and mounted on dibond.

“I am very excited to present my Variation #5 on Rubens’ iconic work at VK Gallery,” says Inga. “The New York art scene is one of the most open-minded in the world and is appreciative of contemporary styles and postmodern art.”

Fascinated by the idea of the multiple forms The Feast of Venus can take, Inga aims to continue the legacy of Rubens’ painting by collaborating with other artists around the world to complete the project.

Inga’s Variation #5 of The Feast of Venus exhibit will be presented by VK Gallery at the Affordable Art Fair in New York on 10 – 13 September 2015. The fair will be held at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street, New York.
