Artist ( Description ):

Michele Martin Taylor, an American fine art painter, is known for her Post-Impressionist works in oil, watercolor and intaglio.  Her subjects are often gardens, water and verdure, but also portraits, figural studies and interiors.

The artist studied drawing and painting at the Chouinard Art Institute, California State University, (both CA) and Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR, with post-graduate independent study in Paris, France.  In her early fine art career, she exhibited at regional American Northwest art museums and major galleries.  Her achievements were noted in the press, and chronicled in her vetted listing in Who’s Who in American Art.  She was honored by Oregon State University for outstanding achievement in the arts, and by Portland’s celebrated Schreiner’s Iris Gardens, which named a new hybrid Iris “Michele Taylor” in honor of her iris garden paintings.

Michele Martin Taylor’s work has been featured in Architectural Digest, presented as diplomatic gifts by the U.S. government and she was commissioned to paint the portrait of former Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Mark Singel to hang in the state Capitol.  Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States, in U.S. Embassies abroad, as well as in venues in Germany, France and the Netherlands.  Over 1400 of her works are included in public and private collections throughout the world, and her biography has merited inclusion in the worldwide internet Wikipedia.
