J. Mane Gallery is pleased to present its EAT! International Online Juried Art Exhibition.

Food is essential to our survival. It is also one of the great pleasures in life. It's no surprise then that fruit, vegetables, meat, and drink have been common motifs in painting and sculpture from the Roman-era until today. For this competition, artists were encouraged to share their artistic vision and interpretation of food and eating.  The artwork varied from realism to surrealism to abstraction. All artists over the age of 18, regardless of location or experience, were encouraged to submit their best inspired work.

Each of our themed exhibitions, awards for First, Second and Third Place.  The First Place winner for the EAT! show is Diane Gelman for her acrylic on panel with collage and resin, Caked Up. Diane’s interpretation of the theme as well as the composition of the subject are outstanding. The juxtaposition of colors and shapes has the viewer hanging out and looking inside for what they will find next. Diane is also the Featured Artist for the next four weeks.

Taking Second Place is Lynne Kibbe for her scratchboard, Refreshing.   The mood Lynne has achieved with her lighting and composition draw you in and make you curious about what exactly you are hydrating with. And, Third Place goes to Stephanie Arn for her oil, Giant Peach.  Stephanie’s master of the medium is apparent and treatment of the subject are what made her work stand apart.

Four Honorable Mention awards were given as well. Honorable Mention awards go to Sandra Belitza-Vazquez for her photograph, Hahaha, Mike Preski for his black line drawing and colored pencil, Dinner Table Gina, Regina Roland for her water color collage, Fine Wines, and Natalie Wetzel for Sweet Sugar. Please visit the Monthly Winners Page to learn more about each of these award winning artists and to contact them directly about their work.

The remaining artists included in the exhibition serve as an example of impressive talent and we are honored to showcase their artwork on the J. Mane Gallery website.

We thank all the competition participants.

Mane Gallery does not enter into the selling of artwork featured in any of the monthly online exhibitions. You will find the artist's website or email by clicking on their images below.
