Artist Statement:
The story behind this artwork came from a legion, one of many places, some personal, and some historic but if I had to put one singular definition on what I believe it represents at least to me I would say this work of art laid bare comes from a piece of mind, one unbound by the hard-hitting reality it shields its eye's from, like the wind she whisks her mind away to wherever it wants to be and sets herself still.
Jurors notes: This painting brought an overwhelming feeling of happiness. The artist captured the models spirit and essence in this painting. The strong figurative work against the soft background really made it pleasing to the eye. Love the details in the dress and jewelry.
