Artist Statement:

"I work in Ireland as a portrait artist, completing a small number of portraits annually. I am a self taught artist and work mainly with acrylic paint on cotton or linen canvas. The scale of my work is usually small, approximately 30cm x 30cm and is influenced by my painting technique, which is very considered, as I build layer upon layer of paint to give a rich, glazed appearance to my work. My paintings aim to capture a special moment in time: a sleeping child, a moment of contemplation, a moment of sadness or joy." Adele
