Mirus Gallery, located in the heart of the SOMA District, will feature its newest exhibition “E-Horizon” by Italian artist, Vesod. The gallery’s opening reception will take place on Friday, Sept. 16 from 7 to 10 p.m. and will be available for viewing through Saturday, Oct. 29.
Born in northern Italy, Vesod draws artistic inspiration from his life experiences. From a young age, he developed an interest in graffiti, which now plays a central role in his artwork. In addition to his cultural background, Vesod’s academic background in math integrates futuristic dynamics and geometric shapes in order to represent space and time in three dimensions. He strives for his artwork to figuratively detach people from a sense of time and the geometric shapes he uses represent the eternal present.
“E-Horizon” references a boundary in space and time through physics, an event horizon beyond which events cannot affect an outside observer. Vesod’s exhibit will include five large works on canvas and 10 drawings on paper, as well as a site-specific installation at Mirus Gallery.
