Fouladi Project Maker Program Presents:
Angelo Garro’s Omnivore Salt Inspired Objects
Featuring Photographs by Laurie Frankel
Opening reception for Angelo Garro, Laurie Frankel and the Makers:
Wednesday, March 5th, 6 to 8pm
Show runs March 4th – March 15th, 2014.
Join us for a special exhibition of photographs and hand made functional tabletop objects inspired by San Francisco’s most beloved forager, Angelo Garro. After many decades of nourishing the bellies, hearts and souls of countless friends in his blacksmithing forge, Angelo has finally brought his staple ingredient, Omnivore Salt, to the public market. To celebrate, we have invited artists to create works that resonate with Angelo’s timeless passion for food, artisanal traditions and what is essential: Bringing people together to commune around the table.
To evoke the spirit of the forge, we will present a series of sumptuous photographs depicting the shop where Angelo works with metal and cooks his Italian delicacies, taken by local artist, Laurie Frankel. Also on view will be Laurie’s enchanting video of Angelo making gnocchi.
On display will be an enticing installation of one-of-a-kind salt cellars, salt spoons, wood cutting boards and silk screened table linens.
Makers in the show include Michael Bondi, Jeff Burwell, Adam Clark, Claire De Lavallee, Esque Studio, Amanda Kanter, Jose Miguel Loyola, Wendy Macnaughton, Alexis Moran, Sherry Olsen, Esteban Prieto, Paco Prieto, Len Carella, Eric Stevenson and Tom Marioni.
And of course, ready to go packages of Angelo’s Omnivore Salt will be available!
