On July 4, 2026, America will stand before the world celebrating its 250th birthday. What will we see beyond the fireworks?

Artists have always been at the center of the nation’s soul. Artists are catalysts with the power to move hearts, open eyes, and expand potentials to realize and continue to believe in what is possible. What is the art expressing America now? The artists of O Say Can You See … the Soul of Our Nation create images and perspectives that transcend politics, encourage hope, and advance the vision of a just society where all can experience opportunity, and enjoy liberty and happiness.

O Say Can You See … the Soul of Our Nation was produced by Citizen Joy and Sanchez Art Center. The inaugural exhibition (May–June, 2026) included 44 artworks by 47 artists. In July of 2026, the show travels to two Bay Area venues—the Center for Creativity in Redwood City and Rhythmix Cultural Works in Alameda—in time for 250th birthday celebrations at both locations.

The artists of O Say Can You See … the Soul of Our Nation create images and perspectives that transcend politics, encourage hope, and advance the vision of a just society where all can experience opportunity, and enjoy liberty and happiness. Traveling exhibition produced by Citizen Joy and Sanchez Art Center.

O Say Can You See … was juried by Citizen Joy founder, Jeff Raz. The exhibition at Center for Creativity was curated by Barbara Kibbe and Nanette Wylde.
