Call to Artist: Summer Exposure

This June Pacific Art League will be exhibiting works celebrating the excitements of summer. PAL hopes to bring a sense of adventure to the exhibition. The sights of summer extend to gardens, mountain tops, sunshine, beach days, and the joys of spending time in the warm weather. Pacific Art League invites submissions that demonstrate development and mature stylistic approaches to their work.

JUDGE

Rachel Lazo an artist and a tenured art instructor at Evergreen Valley College.

Juror Bio:

Rachel Lazo is and artist, and a tenured art instructor at Evergreen Valley College. Rachel Lazo works primarily in painting and drawing media. Her abstract works use layers of pattern, color interactions and shape reversals to create movement and rhythm. Her figurative work explores the impact of physical spaces on human relationships. Rachel lives and works in San Jose, California.

HAND DELIVER ACCEPTED WORK

Friday & Saturday, May 26^th-27^th, 2017, 10AM - 4PM.  All work must be hand-delivered to PAL. No shipped work will be accepted.

PICK UP WORK

Friday & Saturday, June 30^th and July 1st, 10AM - 4PM.

Members: $40 for first entry, $10 for each additional entry. Non-members: $50 for first entry, $10 for each additional entry.ENTRY FEE

SELECTION NOTIFICATION

Thursday, May 11^th, 2017 by email. Award winners are announced at the Friday, June 2^nd, opening reception.

EXHIBITION GUIDELINES

• All work must be original and not previously exhibited at Pacific Art League.
• All 2D work must be ready to hang on a wire
• All 2D work must be framed or on gallery-wrapped canvas with finished edges.
• Size of work limited to 40” wide by 50” tall, including frame. (contact below for inquiry)
• All work must be for sale. Members receive 70% of sale price. Non-members receive 60% of sale price.
• All work must be labeled on the front and back with title and artist’s name.
