J. Mane Gallery is pleased to present its In Full Bloom International Online Juried Art Exhibition for the month of October 2018.

Throughout the history of art, certain subjects have resonated particularly strongly with artists and audiences alike. Trends reveal art's most popular muses, with flowers at the forefront.

Rooted in ancient art and still prevalent today, depictions of blossoms, blooms, and other botanical elements can be found in many of the most significant art movements, whether carved into clay or starring in a still-life.

For this competition, artists were encouraged to share their artistic vision and interpretation of botanical and floral art. Botanical subjects included flowers, herbs, fruit, leaves, plants and related botanical and floral subjects. The artwork varied from realism to surrealism to abstraction, and all media were accepted, including 3-D. We had submissions from artists from the United States, Canada, Germany and India.

Artist Jin Li was our judge for the In Full Bloom competition.  Webson(Lin) Ji is an artist dedicating on having a voice for his generation using art works as an expression. After he got his bachelor degree from China Academy of China, China, he went to America to take the master degree program in Savannah College of Art and Design, USA.  You can view his work on his website. Images were judged based on flowers being the main subject of the work, composition and technique.

Each of our monthly themed exhibitions, awards for First, Second and Third Place.  The First Place winner for the In Full Bloom show is Debi Shapiro for her archival digital print, Grace. The judges were impressed by her composition of colors. They felt they were vibrant and intense and the image was a joyful, blooming scene.

Taking Second Place is Elanor Harvie for her oil, Natural Forms.   And, Third Place goes to Leah Dockrill for her watercolor, Canna In The Weeds.

Eight Honorable Mention awards were given as well.
