Date:
Friday, 20 September 2019 to Sunday, 20 October 2019

J. Mane Gallery is pleased to present its 2nd Annual Mind Body Spirit International Online Juried Art Exhibition.

Oscar Wilde said, "Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter."

Throughout history, the human figure has always been a common subject of visual art, involving the study and appreciation of it's beauty in it's depiction and presentation.  An awareness of the body shape, including postures like sitting, standing or sleeping and movements such as walking, running or dancing, speak to the ideal subject.

For this competition artists were encouraged to share their artistic vision and interpretation of the human figure. The artwork varied from realism to surrealism to abstraction. All artists over the age of 18, regardless of location or experience, are encouraged to submit their best inspired  art and photography.

Each of our themed exhibitions, awards for First, Second and Third Place.  The First Place winner for the 2nd Annual Mind Body Spirit show is Vasu Tolia for her acrylic, Naturism. Vasu’s excellent command of the medium and execution of the theme are what set her work apart. Vasu is also the Featured Artist for the next four weeks.

Taking Second Place is Luiza Lavorato for her photograph, Mist. Leah’s composition and unique perspective draw in the curiosity of the viewer. And, Third Place goes to Michael J. Duke for his digitally enhanced photograph, Being Judged.  The creativity with the medium as well as his interpretation of the theme is what set Michael’s work apart.

Honorable Mention awards were given as well. Honorable Mention awards go to William Brennaan for his oil painting, The Dancers, Dustin Davis for his sculpture, Hildy Maze for her oil, Beyond the Safety of the False, and Alayne Sahar for her watercolor, Garden Goddesses. Please visit the Monthly Winners Page to learn more about each of these award winning artists and to contact them directly about their work.

The remaining artists included in the exhibition serve as an example of impressive talent and we are honored to showcase their artwork on the J. Mane Gallery website.

We thank all the competition participants.
